Bio of Job de Ojeda

I’m Job de Ojeda. Originally from Guatemala, I
come from a long family line of financial and business pros who greatly
influenced my life.
I live in a beautiful little suburban town west
of Fort Lauderdale called Weston with my soon to be wife, Michelle and our dog
Mica. On the weekends I’m working on a professional MBA from the University of
Florida and if I ever decide to start following college football, I’ll enjoy
some heated (and fun) competition with Pat about it.
My passions are my family, business, and close
friendships. When time permits, I love to travel, exercise, and spend time with
friends and family. I hold the personal belief close to my heart that family is
most important above all.
So how did I get to this great business of direct
response financial selling?
After receiving a business degree from Nova
Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL, I worked for a short period as a
supervisor at a credit card calling center. I then moved to AXA Advisors where I
began my journey in the financial services world.
I stayed at AXA for three and a half years and
saw first hand the revolving door that most career agencies have. Almost every
one of the new agents I met, left the financial services business after
exhausting their “top 200” list (you ex-captive agents know what I mean). The
few that survived either had an early (lucky or otherwise) break or starved
another 10 or more years before getting anywhere.
I knew there had to be a better way to be
successful in this business.
My first experience with direct response
insurance selling came through a program you’ve probably heard of, the “selling
insurance in your underwear” program. I tried it, started getting results, and
in February of 2002 started my company Insurance Information Service, LLC as a
direct response insurance marketing organization.
I went through a long trial and error period that
included fax blasts, email blasts, mailings, and a ton of other tests. I finally
found that Internet leads were the most cost effective and consistent source of
ready to act prospects. That’s where my relationship with Only Financial began.
I spoke with Brad Howard, met Pat Wedeking, and thought to myself “what an
awesome bunch of guys. Here’s a group that understands this direct response
business and thinks the way I do about it.” –I was right!
My vision and goal for the future is to develop
the relationships that will grow Insurance Information Service, LLC into a
large-scale marketing organization. I have a plan to see it grow to 100 agents
selling insurance and financial products and services over the telephone, email,
fax, and Internet.
