I am one of the few these days who can say I was born and raised in beautiful Colorado.  My passion is spending quality time with my family and building a successful business.  My other passion is golf, however, since my first son was born and I started this business my handicap has gone up about 10 strokes – I’ll try golf again later in life.  

I am the luckiest man in the world; I have a beautiful wife and two highly energetic sons, Logan 4 and Chase 2.  I am happiest when I am at the bottom of the dog-pile.  I am Graduate of the Harvard of the Rockies (don’t laugh) The University of Colorado with a BS in Business Administration – Go Buffs!  

Prior to jumping head first into the life insurance business I was the Vice President of a small financial research firm, Nordby International.  Nordby specialized in providing in depth stock market data and analysis information to the business press.  Nordby was in the right place at the right time and in 1999 we were acquired by one of the largest and most successful Internet companies in the world.  At that time I became the Director of Business Development for CNET Networks and I was responsible for the Investor division of CNET's News.com. 

My time with Nordby and CNET was extremely valuable.  I learned how to make a small company profitable and I learned how to roll with the punches in a fast moving and dynamic environment at CNET.  We rode the Internet roller coaster and had to deal with business rules that seemed to change on a daily basis. 

In mid 2002 the Internet bubble was at its breaking point and it was time to jump.  I had always been entrepreneurial and saw a great chance to be my own boss with Direct Response Financial.  When I started DRF I had very limited knowledge of the Life Insurance business but I had the desire to make it work.  My business partner, Steve Thompson, and I paid a lot of dummy tax along the way.  We learned that success means formulating a plan, sticking with it and being patient.   

We are now closing in on our second full year of business and we are experiencing tremendous growth.   Over the next 6 months we will be reinvesting to keep the momentum.   

The plan is working.
